Here’s my entry for the J Cape/Observer prize for graphic fiction 2009. I’m afraid it’s a disturbing little ditty. I had to get that final image out of my head. It has been seared into my minds eye ever since I saw it. This is a project that never found a home, but I enjoyed working on it. It was a particular honour to have the famous writer Christophe Andre doing the scripts. Christophe has many published books, I’ll draw your attention to two which were done in a bande dessinee format (comic strip). Petites angoisses et Grosses phobies Petits pénibles et gros casse-pieds

Here’s the beginning of an idea… There’s something to be said for the blitz spirit when the city is being flattened. Laugh in the face of adversity.
